Age does not prevent the octogenarian founder Sri Pulla Venkata Rao to visit the nursery everyday and give directions to his sons and workers. His valuable suggestions and instructions, ripened with experience, set the overall direction to the nursery making it a pioneer then and a leader now.
The eldest son of the founder he worked along with his father in establishing and developing the nursery. Known for his discipline and sincerity, he was successful in making 'Sri Sri Satyadeva Nursery' a brand for supplying quality plants. The techniques he developed in producing and supplying quality plants paved the way for many up-coming nurseries. He was an expert in trade and financial aspects of the nursery business. Unfortunately, due to ill health, he left us on 29th of July 2012.
The second son of the founder, Sri Pulla Satyanarayana is the Managing Director of the nursery. Often, visitors to the nursery mistake him for a worker. With no sign of discrimination he works day and night along with workers to feed and protect the plants. An expert in nurturing the plants he takes care of all their requirements – from water to nutrition. He is a specialist in the production, nutrition and growth of fruit plants.
The third son of the founder, Sri Pulla Anjaneyulu is an expert in trade and trade related aspects. He is solely responsible for the export of plants, in proper condition to the nook and corner of the country. He is also an expert in collecting new varieties of plants and propagating them. His expertise led to developing many new varieties of decorative plants and strengthen the relationship between the nursery and other traders and suppliers.
After obtaining higher education the third generation (grand sons of Sri Pulla Venkata Rao) Pulla Veera Venkata Rao & Veer Raju entered into the nursery business. Their love for plants and expertise in language helped the expansion of the nursery activities. Acting as senior directors they take care of banking transactions and public relations.
Recently, Sri Pulla Veera Venkata Rao, in recognition of his services to the field of nurseries was unanimously elected Vice-president of All India Nursery Man Association. This election enabled him influence policy decisions at all India level and serve the larger interests of nurseries.
Thoroughly educated, these third generation young men are playing a key role in acquiring and applying modern tools and techniques in nursery management. Also they are extending their unstinted support in the expansion of nursery business.
The youngest of the third generation, these two are now obtaining higher education in life sciences. Getting trained in horticulture they are eager to support the family enterprise.
Last, but never the least, it is the effort of hundreds of our workforce, both men and women, who take utmost care of each and every plant in the nursery that made it what it is now. From the level of the supervisor to the ordinary worker it is the well coordinated effort that made Sri Satyadeva a brand for top quality plants and trees. Indeed, visitors recognize it with great surprise that there is hardly any difference between the worker and the owner in their responsibility, love and care for the products of the nursery. Owners work like workers and workers own like owners. That is the hallmark of our nursery. It may be an exaggeration, but an exaggeration of a vital truth, to say that if any one sees a quality plant in corporate offices or urban landscape gardens they immediately recognize that it must have been propagated/germinated/nurtured in Sri Satyadeva nursery !
